Today, I’ll show you what aperture priority does, how it effects your shot and when you can use it to take better photos. 

Aperture priority in photography is a little like a semi automatic mode. Your camera controls the shutter speed and you control the aperture. This is great if you need to make decisions as to whether you want a shallower depth of focus or a deep depth of focus. Also if you put your camera into ISO auto, then all you have to control is aperture…and this is why it has the name, aperture priority. 

If you’re new to photography, this is the function to try when you’re coming out of auto mode…the semi auto mode is a little step towards understanding and gaining control of your camera more than the camera controlling you.
